ASC People is recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a growing engineering and manufacturing organization in the Pittsburgh area. The successful candidate will support the design, analysis, testing, and continuous improvement of mission-critical rotating equipment used in demanding industrial and government applications. This role combines advanced engineering analysis, product development, manufacturing support, and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze electrical insulation systems for motors, generators, pumps, and rotating equipment.
  • Lead engineering studies, testing, and validation of new and existing electrical insulation systems.
  • Evaluate insulation performance through partial discharge, voltage endurance, thermal endurance, and related testing.
  • Investigate and resolve complex electrical engineering and insulation system challenges.
  • Develop engineering solutions to improve product performance, reliability, and service life.
  • Support manufacturing teams by troubleshooting production-related electrical insulation issues.
  • Create engineering documentation, reports, technical presentations, and design reviews.
  • Coordinate engineering schedules and technical development projects.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing personnel, quality teams, and program management.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Chemistry is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering focused on rotating equipment and insulation systems.
  • Experience with electrical insulation system design, testing, and performance evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of Electrostatic Analysis, Electromagnetic Finite Element Analysis (EMFEA), or Thermal Analysis.
  • Experience using engineering software such as MATLAB, Simulink, QuickField, Flux2D, Mathcad, or similar design tools.
  • Knowledge of IEEE standards, military specifications, and insulation qualification testing.
  • Strong communication, technical documentation, and engineering leadership skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
