ASC People is recruiting for an experienced Contracts Director to lead the contracts administration function for a global defense and transport technology organization in Macungie, Pennsylvania. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a contracts professional who thrives on complex Government contracts and wants to shape processes, guide negotiations, and influence results at the functional level.
As the Contracts Director, you will oversee the preparation of proposals and the negotiation and administration of contracts in accordance with company policy and legal requirements. You will rely on deep experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals, with a wide degree of creativity and latitude expected in the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex Government contracts cradle to grave, from acquisition through fulfillment.
- Review contract documents and advise management, internal teams, and customers of contractual rights and obligations.
- Interact daily with Government customer representatives.
- Lead proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and contract administration in line with company policy, legal requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Examine proposal requirements and estimates, prepare bids, and analyze terms, Statements of Work, and specifications to evaluate risk, accuracy, and completeness.
- Negotiate contractual terms and pricing.
- Compile and analyze data, maintain historical records, and facilitate proper shipment, billing, and payment collection.
- Coordinate internal audit programs, monitor findings, and ensure timely corrective action.
- Compile and communicate audit status reports and provide analysis to management.
- Establish operational plans for contract programs and develop new processes, standards, and operational plans that impact functional results.
- Prepare proprietary information agreements, teaming agreements, export licenses/agreements, and various memoranda.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant contracts experience.
- Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS.
- Experience with Firm Fixed Price, Cost Type, and Time and Material contract types.
- Proven negotiation experience with contractual terms and pricing.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
- Self-starter able to handle complex contracts with minimum supervision.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform complex tasks accurately.
